IANA 2009 Intermodal Operations & Maintenance Seminar
CALVERTON, MD, March 17, 2009 – The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has announced that it will hold its 15th Annual Intermodal Operations & Maintenance Seminar on April 29-30 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Hotel, in Oak Brook, Illinois. This important educational event is open to IANA members and non-members. Hundreds of intermodal operations and maintenance professionals are expected to attend to learn about the latest trends and challenges facing their industry.
In order to maximize value for this year’s attendees, IANA has condensed the seminar schedule down from three days to two, and established discounted hotel room rates. A special registration discount is also available to those who register by April 6, while an additional discount is also available for online registrations.
Besides IANA’s Committee and Division meetings, a full slate of educational and networking opportunities is expected. Key educational sessions include:
- State of the Intermodal Industry: Industry experts will provide observations and commentary on the current intermodal environment and a short-term outlook;
- Roadability Compliance Workshop Part I– Regulatory Enforcement: Features local, State and Federal enforcement and compliance officials who will share their thoughts on the newly-announced roadability rules;
- Fifth Annual Innovative Intermodal Symposium: Showcases new intermodal products and services; and,
- Roadability Compliance Workshop Part II – Impact on Industry Operations: Offers a panel of experts that will provide guidance on how the industry will apply the new regulations within current operations.
Other seminar features include a networking breakfast and lunch, along with a special Welcome Reception. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Intermodal Freight Technology Working Group will also meet during the seminar and offer a related, technology-focused educational program.
